All of Laguna is an MLPA area and everything has been protected since 2012.
So all of Laguna is a 'Not take' area.Montage Resort is at the north end of Aliso State Beach, past the beach front homes. The area consists of what was once Treasure Island, named after an RV park that used to be here for many years and Goff Island Beach. All of these areas are still easily accessible from the steps here at the Montage Resort.
Parking here is in a parking structure, off Wesley Street (turn right if heading south). Word of advice for parking here. There is another social group that meets here on Saturdays and leaves at 8 AM, when the fees become active. Since this is a rather large group, they take up nearly all of the parking spots, so plan to arrive here after 8:15 or so, you could get lucky and get a spot before then, but it is just easier to wait until they leave around 8:00. Fees for parking is about $2 per hour at the time of this writing.

Diving here. The area is pretty flat with stairs to the beach. It can be a rather long walk
for those who haven't been here before. Plus, remember this is a resort area, please
be quite here on night dives, because you literally walk right through the resort to
the dive site. The stairs are in the picture to the right. This whole area is very shallow and thus viz is always in question, it must be a "Good day" to make this a good dive. See the picture to the right? You go down the stairs and go in the water just to the left of the exposed reef structure, then go around it to the right past the "point". As mentioned, the area won't get much deeper than 30 feet. If there is surf here bigger than 1-2 feet, it is not worth diving here. Best at high tide too.

There are showers and restrooms here making it easy to get cleaned up after your dive. I would call the facilities here "Very good" for the diver, but you pay for it here with parking fees, although the meter station accepts cards. After you dive here, if you want a drink of some sort, you can par-take in one of the bars here in the resort, although it is a bit pricey. Plus there are lots of places to get a bite to eat on the way back through Laguna.Here is a pano I shot of Montage on a recent dive.
